Many government agencies and private organizations have been engaged in programs to protect the marine environment of the Philippines since the 1970s. A large amount of resources (financial, manpower and technical) has been spent in the implementation of these programs during the past 40 years.
AP – The Philippines’ most active volcano could erupt within days, officials warned Sunday after detecting a drastic surge in earthquakes and eerie rumbling sounds in surrounding foothills. Tens of thousands of villagers have been evacuated as a precaution.
