The first nine weeks has come to an end. Students have each taken a turn recording the temperature onto our classroom calendar. The rest of the pupils must also keep track of the weather on their own calendar. Students use a colored thermometer and record the color in the corner of their day according. They also draw in the other corner what they sky looks like. At the end of the month we count how many rainy, cloudy, partly cloudy, sunny, foggy, or windy on a graph. Students keep their monthly calendar for every month in their special folders. This way we can look over changes in weather from month to month…. … www.svlocal.org …Full Story

We are very excited to be through our first grading period as second graders. Our class has been predicting and observing the weather and temperature, and has been observing the class tree in the front of the school. In our class this first nine weeks, we have learned so many new and exciting skills! We our practicing our handwriting skills daily and making a class word wall so that we can imporve our spelling skills. We have worked hard in math class and have even taken some time out to learn a few new games from our peers in Mrs. Hagan's class! We made paper mache` pumpkins and wrote sentences about jack-o-lanterns in language arts class too! Time and money have been the key words in math and we are earning dollars and cents for everything that we do in class! This next nine weeks will be packed full of even more exciting skills and activities that we will complete including a webQuest on whales, powerpoint presentations on native americans and lots more!… … www.svlocal.org …Full Story
