Though typically prescribed in the treatment of osteoporosis, Evista (raloxifene) has been proven to be effective at reducing the risk of certain breast cancers in postmenopausal women. Other studies have shown that Evista, when combined with vitamin D and calcium, can reduce the risk of spine fractures by up to 41%. When compared to tamoxifen in a clinical trial, Evista was shown to provide fewer side effects.
